2015 has been an exciting and very busy year for MRC.
It hasn’t been without its challenges, particularly in relation to the forthcoming Consultation by the DoH in relation to the imposition of fixed fees in certain types of clinical negligence cases. As the year closes we remain mindful of the grave concerns of the Government as to the spiralling costs in these cases and the likelihood of changes being imposed in 2016.
The positive effect of planning ahead for these potential changes is that we have spent a great deal of time reviewing our service in order to deliver to the instructing solicitor’s exact requirements and at the right price. This service can be tailored on a “case by case” basis in order to work to any necessary cost restrictions.
We are delighted to remain in the position to be able to offer deferred fees as well as fixed fees.
Our team is growing rapidly in order to be able to keep up with the high volume of work coming in. Nicola, who joined us in November 2014, is very capably managing a well-run and efficient office. In March this year we were very lucky to recruit Sharon as Operations Manager and she has not disappointed; her organisational skills would be very difficult to match. Judi joined us in April and as well as ably supporting Sharon she works efficiently collating records. Peter, our driver, came on board in May this year to provide a pick up and drop off service to local clients. This has proved very popular, although not quite as popular as his dog Toby, who has become a bit of a local celebrity! Sheila, our longest standing team member remains a loyal and committed support in all areas, she also makes great cakes!
Our team of nurses, midwives and other healthcare professionals continues to grow all the time and the wealth of their experience and expertise is vast. It is exactly this specialist knowledge that underpins our service and is why we have recruited a new in-house nurse Joanne, who will be joining us in January 2016 – so watch this space.
We would like to wish all our clients a very happy Christmas and here’s to another successful year…
